What is the F1 in Schools Technology Challenge?
The F1 in Schools Technology Challenge is a world-wide competition aimed at senior school students, with 12 million students taking part across 34 countries. Each team has to design, analyse, manufacture and test a gas powered miniature F1 car which is raced at speeds in excess of 70km/h.

The F1 car is a scaled down model, around 20 cm long. The cars race side by side along 20 metre straights. Teams of 3 to 6 members compete to ultimately win the Bernie Ecclestone F1 in Schools World Championship Trophy. We are judged on the speed of our car, the supporting evidence of our design, verbal presentation and pit display. The competition involves three levels - the Regional, National and World Finals.

We've created a game to let you try out your reaction times - an important part of the car races.
Test your reaction times!
The aim is to hit Race as soon as all 5 lights go out. This will be between 2 and 8 seconds after they all light up. Press Start to begin.
